Collection is actually a very difficult and lonely thing. Because the ancient jade has its unique mystery and cultural connotation, it is necessary to understand history first, and then to appreciate its beauty. In order to enter the field of high ancient jade collection as soon as possible, in the absence of computers and networks at that time, only a large number of notes can be made by purchasing books, accessing the library extensively, and borrowing books from Tibetan friends. To enrich your collection knowledge and improve your appreciation level as soon as possible. Here are some tips on my personal collection experience:
First, the teacher: a good teacher, you can take a lot of detours on your collection road, can play a multiplier role. I remember the teacher once said: Gao Gu jade identification is not difficult, look at the shape of the device, look at the ornamentation and scars, look at the twilight and oxidized spots; the color of the authentic products are generally distributed from the surface and the inside, the color is shallow Deep to shallow, deep and shallow, with a sense of layering and undulation, looks natural and comfortable; oxidized plaques can be seen with high-magnification loupe-like crystals of ice-like shape on the glass window of the winter season (Fig. 1); The teacher’s personal point of view, the more he looks at the things he likes, the more he is the real thing, or the more authentic the real thing. It took me two years to understand and experience this short sentence.
Second, Taobao: Every day, I am busy with business. In my spare time, I often read books and access the information on the Internet and look at the collections and catalogues of the museum. As long as I don’t work overtime on Saturdays and Sundays, I’m going to visit the antique market and I will spend a lot of time with the stall owners. We. Generally good things don't appear on the stalls, usually in the stalls or at home, once you get their approval, then you have already succeeded in half, the next thing is very simple, the favorite things Capable, buy; can not afford, give up. Some netizens said that they can't afford to buy, and they can't afford to buy. Actually, I think that my personal strength is so strong that I can’t exhaust the world’s collections. I once met a big entrepreneur who is really not bad money. I have invested nearly 4 million in annual collections and nearly 100 million in 20 years. But many times, in desperation, you can only choose to give up.
Bargaining is an art. When a heart-moving collection appears, the price of the stall owner is far from the psychological price of the stall. Don't be impatient, don't be discouraged, you can start at a lower price than your heart. Slow. Slowly add up, generally added to the psychological price to stop a little, can not afford to give up; example: Han Dynasty Baiyu Shuangfeng out of the wall, weighing 218 grams, 21.7 cm long, 12 cm high, time: night Location: Booth home; offer 18,000, psychological price does not exceed 10,000, I started from 5000 yuan, after several rounds of bargaining, and finally 8500. Third, identification: the key to identification is to distinguish between true and false. The first is to look at the jade material. Most of the jade articles in the wartime period were made by Hetian jade; Hetian jade, with a density of 2.95, a Mohs hardness of 6.0-6.5, and a refractive index of 1.60-1.61. The second is the watch type, the true type is prepared, the imitation type is like the god. Only by looking at the real thing and practicing hard, can we "get away from the eye" on the road of collecting. The third thing to look at is the knife mark (scar). The knife marks in the Warhan period are especially unique. As far as the line is concerned, the authenticity is strong and powerful, while the imitation is not deep, not oblique, and looks soft. Recently, I have received a round of carved white jade and beasts through these few keywords. They are dignified and have a sense of hand-feeling. When they touch the hand, they first cool and then warm, and when they are rubbed, they can be seen as moisturizing and radiant. The sacred dragon has a lion's nose and a horn. It is headed upright, with a dragon body in its mouth, and a long tail to the left. It has a sleek design, balanced left and right, and is symmetrical. It is called an ancient art treasure (Figure 3).
I personally think that if you have confidence, there is no need to ask the collection to look around, or to find someone to identify; especially those so-called "experts"; I have a citizen of the Tibetan family, Mr. Xu, who has collected nearly 100 pieces of jade for many years, and invited local people. The collectors association's well-known "experts" appraisal, the results were all sentenced to death, without exception; Mr. Xu was angry, sold all the collections to a shopkeeper at a fairly low price, not long after, The owner bought a Buick Regal sedan. It is said that the owner only took a few pieces of Mr. Xu’s collection. Another Tibetan friend, Mr. Shen, brought four porcelains approved by the national-level porcelain appraisal experts in Tianjin and went to the home of an expert at a provincial museum for identification. In less than five minutes, the word was like gold. The two words - full leave, the identification fee of 2,000 yuan per piece, a total of 8,000 yuan.
Collection of high ancient jade, can not rely on "snobbery." With the development of the collection market, the myth of "missing" has become less and less. The collection is played with the mentality, relying on the real talents; practicing the "internal power" and practicing the "eyes of the fire", if you are lucky, "no leakage" is not impossible.
