The method of distinguishing pure wool from 100% wool

According to the regulations of the national textile industry, wool sweaters with 100% wool content, whether worsted or woolen, are called "pure wool sweaters." However, in order to improve the spinning performance and improve the durability, the worsted product is allowed to contain not more than 5% of non-wool fibers (such as nylon, polyester, etc.). Woollen finished products are allowed to contain no more than 7% non-wool fibers.

If used for decoration, and the decorative fibers must be visible, the final worsted fiber content can be relaxed to 7%. Woollen finished products are allowed to contain not more than 7% non-wool fibers, but the total amount of both (referring to decoration and improving spinning performance) must not exceed 7%.

Pure wool sweaters, if added to the non-wool fibers allowed in the standard, can be labeled as "pure wool", regardless of worsted or woolen products, but not "100% wool". Only the wool content is determined to be 100% of finished products can be tagged with "100% wool" on the sewn trademark or tag.
