Pre-increase of Russian textile consumption by at least 15%

Russia repositions the technical fabrics, which reflects the fact that in the current country, man-made fibers imported from Belarus, China, and South Korea consume about 200,000 tons per year, which has a good application prospect and does not have its own production plant. In addition, Russia has a rich base of raw materials for the production of polyester.

However, although the experience of the EU is very good and some local optimism producers, some Russian analysts believe that the production of technical textiles in the domestic textile industry and the repositioning of artificial fabrics may bring certain related problems.

According to them, the current production of polyester is associated with large-scale production costs. In addition, there is also a need to import one of the major components of terephthalic acid-artificial fabrics production - its current prices in the global market are still high. It also aggravates the fact that the current average payback period for factories producing synthetic fiber is estimated to be not less than 10 years, which may be considered too high by Russian investors.

In addition, there is also a relatively low profitability production that needs to be considered, which is significantly lower than the crude oil trade. In this regard, the implementation of these projects may require long-term huge financial support from the country.

At the same time, the Russian government recognizes the status quo in the domestic textile industry, taking into account the way it is supported, as well as finding alternatives to its development. One of these methods is to create conditions for increasing the production of technical textiles.

As part of these plans, under the support of the government has recently completed the development of a federal program, domestic production of chemical fiber fabrics, one of the main aspects of which is currently the construction of a large-scale factory to produce synthetic fibers, in the country of Ivanovo Or area.

Ivanovo region has been the center of textile production in Russia. In recent years, authorities in the region have considered several ways for the future development of the local textile industry, and believe that synthesis and polyester may become drivers for its future growth.

The industry has good prospects for future development. In the next few years, Russia’s consumption of technical textiles is expected to increase by at least 15%.
