Polypropylene has been the most important raw material for this kind of strapping during the production of PP strapping. The quality of the PP strapping depends on the purity of the raw materials. The fewer miscellaneous materials added in the production, the better. Polypropylene is a non-toxic, odorless thermoplastic resin with low density, high strength, strong stiffness, and strong heat resistance. It has good electrical properties and high frequency insulation, and is not affected by humidity. The disadvantage is that it will become brittle, not wear-resistant and easy to age at low temperatures.
In the production of PP strapping, we also need to have enough polypropylene raw material, which will determine the quality of the strapping. We can prepare polypropylene in three ways:
First, the slurry method. The polymerization can be carried out with a diluent (e.g. hexane), which was also the earliest industrial application and is by far the most productive method.
Second, the liquid phase body method. It can be polymerized in liquid propylene under 70°C and 3 MPa temperature and pressure conditions.
Third, the gas phase method. This method is based on the polymerization of propylene in a gaseous state.
Of the three methods, the latter two do not use thinner. At the same time, the gas-phase preparation process is short, energy consumption is low, and its use advantage is even more pronounced.
